Discovering desert

At the Camp

You can spend a full day at the camp or simply come to enjoy a glass of tea, lunch, or dinner — even stay overnight if you wish. We offer camel rides and 4×4 trips ranging from one hour to several hours, tailored to your preferences.

The camp serves as a starting point for a deeper exploration of the desert. Embark on multi-day journeys by camel, 4×4, or a combination of both. These adventures will allow you to truly experience the desert’s vast and changing landscape, from rolling sand dunes and open plains to lush oases. You’ll also gain insights into traditional nomadic life.

Discover the legendary stories of the stars as the nomads know them, essential for their night-time journeys. Savor traditional nomadic meals such as couscous, tagines, harira, and sand-cooked bread known as mela bread (bread baked directly in sand with no grains left behind). Enjoy tea prepared over a wood fire, a signature touch of desert hospitality.

Join us in singing songs inspired by the nomadic way of life, which reflect themes of solidarity, brotherhood, and hospitality. To explore the desert is to experience silence, serenity, and perhaps even discover yourself. As a nomadic philosopher once said, “Silence is the ruler of the desert.” The desert is full of life, yet only a few truly uncover its mysteries.

Humanitarian Aspects – Supporting the Nomads

The human aspect is essential in the lives of the nomadic people, who are often isolated and marginalized. To provide meaningful support, we have partnered with the Nomadic Life Association: Help and Support for the Local Nomadic and Farming Population in the M’hamid El Ghizlane Area—an association founded by us and international friends. Together, we provide logistical, human, and material resources to assist the local community.

The association’s objectives span several key areas: health, education, drought relief, social and cultural support, environmental conservation, and sustainable tourism. While the primary goal is local development, we also aim to contribute at regional, national, and even international levels. Additionally, the association is open to studying projects or ideas that could help this remote area thrive.

If you have any ideas, we would be delighted to act as an intermediary.
